Galerina marginata, also known as the funeral bell or deadly skullcap, is a highly toxic mushroom that grows on decaying conifer wood. It contains lethal amatoxins that can cause severe liver damage and death if ingested. Often mistaken for harmless brown mushrooms, it is widespread across the Northern Hemisphere and parts of Australia.
